Thank you for your interest in having me review your book. As a lifelong avid reader, it is my pleasure to spread the word and share with my fellow reading enthusiasts reviews of books I have enjoyed. Below you should find the answers to any questions you may have about how I do things here at Book Reviews by Elizabeth A. White.

What I Review - My reading has a heavy emphasis on crime fiction (mysteries, police procedurals, noir, thrillers). I also read some literary fiction, horror, sci-fi, and select Young Adult titles (e.g. Artemis Fowl, Hunger Games, Harry Potter). As a general rule, I do not read non-fiction, romance, westerns, or self-help.

Review Schedule - I usually post 1-3 reviews a week, but as this blog is maintained as a hobby there is no hard and fast review schedule. For books/ARCs received sufficiently in advance of publication I try to post reviews within a week or so of the book’s publication date (either before or after). Books that have already been published may take several months from the date of their receipt to be reviewed depending upon my schedule at the time. Unless otherwise specifically agreed upon in advance, such as for a formal Blog Tour, I do not guarantee the time frame in which a review will be posted.

Where Reviews Are Posted - The reason I write reviews is to share my enthusiasm for books. When I’ve read something that I truly enjoyed I want as many people as possible to know about it so they can experience it as well. Accordingly, I don’t “hoard” my reviews only on my blog, but also (usually) post them on The Savannah Morning News, The Florida Times-Union, St. Augustine Record, Bluffton Today, Amazon, GoodReads, Shelfari, Twitter and Facebook.

Honesty in Reviewing – All reviews reflect my honest opinion, without the influence of any outside factors. I don’t see the point in posting a review if I have nothing favorable to say, however, so books that I do not finish or simply did not enjoy are not mentioned or reviewed. Therefore, acceptance of a book does not guarantee it will be reviewed.

Review Copies – Books received from authors, publicists, or publishers are tagged as “review copy” at the bottom of the review. I never sell books or publicity materials that are provided to me.

Other Media - I do occasionally review music CDs, and have conducted numerous interviews with musicians over the years. Most of my listening is hard rock/metal, classic rock, and some prog rock. Please feel free to contact me if you have a CD or concert DVD you would like for me to review.
